OBG routes paid, often confidential AI-training work to the people on our roster — so before anyone receives a brief, we verify who they are and what they can do. Verification isn't a hoop to jump through; it's how we protect the integrity of the work, stay on the right side of the law, and keep our community of experts and clients safe.

To maintain integrity

Clients hire OBG because the judgment behind every brief is genuinely expert-level. Verifying credentials once — deeply — means a board-certified clinician really is one, a licensed attorney really is licensed, and a senior engineer really has shipped. That protects the quality of the work, keeps rates high for real specialists, and stops impersonation and credential fraud before it reaches a project.

To abide by the law

Hiring people and paying them across 47 countries carries real legal obligations. Confirming identity and location lets us meet know-your-contributor and sanctions/export rules, collect the right tax paperwork (W-9 / W-8BEN), confirm you're 18 or older, and honour the confidentiality and data-protection commitments (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA where relevant) we make to the labs and enterprises we work with.

To keep the community safe

Some of our briefs involve sensitive material — safety evaluations, red-teaming, regulated-domain review. Knowing exactly who is in the network protects both the experts and the clients who trust us with that work. Verification keeps bad actors out, secures confidential content, and preserves the trust that makes the whole community worth being part of.

It's quick, it's one-time, and we don't re-qualify you on every brief. Most experts are through in a day or two.

1 · Tell us about you

Sign in, then share your experience, the fields you work in, and where you're based. This is the profile our team reviews — and what our OBG AI assistant collects when you start a chat on the home page.

2 · A short interview

A brief conversation with our team — live in chat, or at a time you book — to confirm your background and answer your questions. No trick tasks, no unpaid "calibration".

3 · Identity check

A quick government-ID check (passport, driver's licence, or national ID) confirms you are who you say you are. This is the step that satisfies our legal and safety obligations.

4 · You're on the roster

Once verified, matched briefs start routing to you with the rate, hours, and acceptance window shown upfront. Your verified status carries across every brief — no resubmitting evidence each time.

What we do with what you share

Verification only asks for what's genuinely needed to hire you and meet our obligations. We treat that information with care:

We never sell your personal data, and we never share it with advertisers.
Identity documents are used solely to confirm who you are; they're stored in encrypted, access-controlled systems and seen by a small, named team.
Buyers who commission a brief only ever see the minimum profile fields they need to validate the work — never your ID or direct contact details.
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account at any time.
